What was the purpose of the Optimum 4000

The Optimum 4000 is our original dry vapor system used first in cancer wards and medical facilities in 1979. It treats areas up to 20,000 ft3 to effectively eliminate odor contamination quickly and safely. Primarily intended for delivering a long-lasting treatment solution, it uses Vaportek's patented spill-proof essential oil membranes to release a nontoxic, odor-neutralizing dry vapor into the air. Penetrating vapor quickly controls and eliminates malodor caused by smoke, humidity, food, and biological odors, among others. Based on proven technology, the Optimum 4000 sets the standard for treating an area’s atmosphere, structure, and contents simultaneously.

What is the recomended placement of the Optimum 4000

The Optimum 4000 is intended for application where the source of the malodor is constant and continuous. Place on a firm, stable surface, situating the unit so air flow at both ends is unobstructed, preferably in a relatively high location. Deodorization will occur continuously. Rotate the dial face to control dry vapor output and intensity using 1 for the lightest output and 10 for the strongest. For more severe contamination, treatment may take several hours or days. If necessary, move the unit to different areas. For applications where security is a concern, an optional wall-mounting bracket with padlock allows for permanent installation and prevents unauthorized access to the output control dial. As with any electrical device, do not locate or use near water. For best results, store cartridges in a cool, dry location and keep away from extreme heat. Dry vapor output will be affected by humidity, airflow, and temperature. Ideal dry vapor release occurs at 50-80°F. Vapor release significantly increases in excess of 90°F.

Cartridge life is approximately 3-4 months. The system does not create moisture or ozone, and will not harm fabric, plants, rubber, adhesives, electrical components, or remove pigment from leather.
